I suppose if you wanted to, you could spend the entire spring, summer, and fall just attending rallies, RV shows, and gatherings of like minded people all over the country. It's not a bad way to start your vandwelling, RV lifestyle. Most rallies have camping of course, but there are usually vendors, manufacturers, instructional classes, entertainment, tours, cooking classes, seminars, food for sale, potlucks, and all kinds of things to keep you occupied! I highly recommend you attend several to get a feel for the differences. Now, a rally hosted by a chapter or small group of people won't have nearly the number of things a rally hosted by a magazine, manufacturer, or RV business will have. To find out before you trek halfway across the country, visit the website and email the sponsor to learn more.
Participation in any of the events is never mandatory. Take in what you want and leave the rest. If you attend a class or seminar and find out you're not really interested, it's okay to just get up and leave.
About RV Rallies
An RV Rally is a planned gathering of RVers who have something in common. It might be an all-women's rally, or all Virginia RVers rally, or all club members rally. Many rallys are gatherings of people who own the same kind of rigs - be it vans, or Airstreams, or tear-drop trailers, or vintage trailers. Every rally is different - from the length of time, events, cost, or focus. To make sure you're welcome, contact the rally organizers to see what they require.
